Rob Faulstich- Conference Chairman, Director of Market Research at Daiichi Sankyo
Currently the Director of Marketing Research for the hypertension franchise at Daiichi Sankyo, Inc, Rob and his team are responsible for the primary and national level secondary research for DSI’s growing portfolio of hypertension products. Additionally, he has forecasting responsibility for all of Daiichi Sankyo’s in-line brands. He joined Daiichi Sankyo in December of 2008. Rob has enjoyed a 20+ year career in the pharmaceutical industry with broad and varied experiences including bench chemistry and commercial analytics, global and domestic analysis, responsibility for in-line and pipeline products as well as in-licensing and out-licensing candidates on both the client and supplier side of the business. Prior to joining DSI in 2008, Rob held positions at Searle, Upjohn, Pharmacia, Biovail, Janssen, and SARGA Associates. In commercial analytics he has held positions responsible for primary research, secondary data analysis, and forecasting. Rob holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois and an M.B.A. from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Rod Tarajos MA, MBA- Conference Faculty, Senior Manager, Business Analysis and Information
Rod Tarajos leads the Business Intelligence team at Amgen Canada where he is responsible for the primary market research, secondary data analysis, commercial forecasting and competitive intelligence functions. He specializes in applied analytical techniques and the effective communication of detailed technical information to business users. Prior to joining Amgen in 1996, he spent the previous twelve years at IMS Health in market research, sales, supply chain management and management consultant roles. Rod’s professional experience covers extensive work with healthcare stakeholders including wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, physicians and academics. An applied econometrician by formal training, Rod holds a Masters degree in Business Economics as well as an MBA, both from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Matt Carpenter- Conference Faculty, Disease Area Lead, Specialty Cardiovascular at Pfizer
Over the past 20 years, Matt Carpenter has held various positions within medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology organizations - both at start-up and established firms. Matt’s background includes positions within sales, strategic planning, health care compliance, operations, business development, new products, and market research. Matt established the first Market Research & Business Analysis group at Centocor, restructured a Global Market Research group at Wyeth, and led the establishment of the insights model as head of Customer & Competitive Insights at Wyeth. His experiences also include working on 9 product launches and completing over $1.5 billion in business development deals.
Matt joined Wyeth, now Pfizer, in 2002. In his current role, Disease Area Lead, Specialty Cardiovascular, he is responsible for developing Pfizer’s Specialty Cardiovascular strategy and products. Prior companies he has worked at include: Centocor, Corvas, Boehringer Mannheim, Key Pharmaceuticals, and General Medical.
Matt earned a B.S. in Marketing Management from Bradley University, Peoria, IL and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI
Rick Stachel- Conference Faculty, Senior Customer Intelligence Manager at Philips Home Healthcare Solutions
In this role, Rick manages customer research projects for Philips’ innovation process in Sleep and Respiratory Care. He also manages a global customer satisfaction program and Voice of Market studies.
Prior to joining Philips, Rick managed the research group within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s largest division, managing customer, market and competitive intelligence.
Rick has a background on the supply side, with experience as a senior project director at a research firm that concentrated on projects in academia, economic development and health care.
Rick is also an Assistant Professor of Business in the MBA program at Point Park University in Pittsburgh where he teaches Marketing, Advertising and Statistical Research Methods.
Charlotte E. Sibley-Conference Faculty, Principal, Sibley Associates, a pharmaceutical and biotech consulting firm
Charlotte serves on the Board of Directors of American Pacific Corporation (AMPAC), a leading custom manufacturer of fine chemicals, specialty chemicals, and propulsion products. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Marketing Research Institute International and on the Corporate Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Board.
She was named the HBA 2008 Woman of the Year, recognizing leadership, business expertise and mentoring. She was selected as one of the most Inspiring People in Pharma in 2006. In 2001, she received the R.R. Fordyce Award for contributions to marketing research.
She is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Business and serves on the Advisory Board for the St. Joseph’s University Healthcare Executive MBA program. She is also on the Pharmaceutical Executive Editorial Advisory Board.
She is Past President of the Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence and Research Group (PBIRG) and HBA.
Charlotte has built and led integrated marketing research, competitive intelligence, strategic forecasting and decision science groups in 6 major pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Most recently, she was at Shire plc. as Senior Vice President, Business Management, with responsibility for cross-functional corporate initiatives.
She has spent over 30 years in the healthcare industry, starting in market research at Pfizer. She worked for Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and at Lipton in consumer market research. She also spent 3 years on Wall Street at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as a security analyst for the pharmaceutical industry.
She holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and an AB in French and German from Middlebury College. She and her husband Leif Magnusson, an attorney, and their two cats live in Berwyn, PA.
Bhavani Moodabagil- Conference Faculty, Manager, Marketing Research at Lundbeck Pharmaceuticals
Bhavani joined Lundbeck Inc in early 2010 as Sr. Manager, Marketing Research, with over 13 years of experience in Marketing Research planning & management, execution and interpretation; Marketing Analytics; Product Marketing and Marketing Strategy. She gained much of her experience at Abbott, holding positions of increasing responsibility within Pharmaceuticals, Medical Device/Diagnostics, and Hospital Products. Now she brings her passion for Marketing, marketing research, strategic outlook, partnership focus, and breadth of experience as core competencies to further drive and enhance her contributions in her current role. Lundbeck, a Denmark based pharmaceutical company is focused on innovative therapies to fulfill unmet medical needs in severe and rare disease within CNS area.
Bhavani, an active member/volunteer of Chicago chapter HBA -Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association since 2007, currently serves on the Board as - Director at Large for Market Research Committee for the chapter. Bhavani holds a Masters degree in Marketing Communications from Walter E. Heller College of Business, Roosevelt University and Bachelors in Marketing Management from Northeastern Illinois University.
