Do you know the "Big Picture" segment of your market?

Many physicians need to get the "Big Picture" on something new before they get the detail...if they need the detail at all! It's not news that some people go for the big picture while others like to dive straight into the details of a topic. But consider for a moment the implications of this.

Big picture people absorb information in large chunks and in random order. They do poorly with long sentences, modifiers and sequential reasoning. They generalize from the big picture to the detail. This is complete opposite of the scientific mode of thinking, where a mass of details are ordered into a logical sequence and then the big picture is generalized or deduced from the detail. These physicians are not scientists and communicating with them as if they are is less than ideal. The scientific detail may have to be presented so that they can see that it exists, but it is not the main conduit of your communication with them.
